SCRC strives at hiring the best qualified early childhood professionals.  We carefully screen and interview all applicants.  We seek qualified individuals with education, experience, and ability. 
Brandi Snow

Center Director

 

Brandi joined the SCRC team in August of 2013, where she is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the center, and staff supervision.  She has previously worked in various childcare settings.  Brandi holds an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Iowa Western Community College, and is a current member of NAEYC.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and renovating her Victorian farmhouse.

Wendy Confer

Assistant Director

 

Wendy has been the Assistant Director at SCRC since July of 2005.  She says that the best part of her job is being with the kids.  "Children are special - they make me laugh & they give great hugs!"  She has 3 children of her own:  Cassie, Cade, & Marcel, & 2 adorable grandsons:  Cailex & Cylin.  Wendy says, "I think that the daycare center has been very beneficial to the town of Stanton and I am proud to be part of it!"

Julia Pfeiffer

Lead Infant Teacher

 

Julia is a 2012 Stanton graduate.  Julia's favorite things about children are their curiosity, fun personalities, and willingness to learn.  Her favorite part of working with the children is getting to see and being a part of their accomplishments while giving them a loving environment to learn and play in. She likes to spend her free time with family and her two sons, Lane and Clarke. She also enjoys reading and being outdoors!

Brittany Gross

Assistant Infant Teacher

 

Brittany joined the SCRC team in August of 2016.  Brittany chose to work in childcare because she enjoys watching children grow and learn new things.  Brittany's favorite part of her job is to spend one-on-one time with each infant singing and playing!  In Brittany's spare time she enjoys watching movies, spending time with family, and especially her daughter Emma!

 

 

 

Eva Hendrickson

Assistant Infant Teacher

 

Eva became an Assistant Teacher at SCRC in December of 2015.  Eva was excited to join the SCRC team after previously helping teach at the local preschool.  Eva was a Toddler Teacher for a short time before deciding that the Infant Room was the place for her!  She is a mother to son Wyatt and daughter London.  She enjoys photography and craft projects in her spare time.  Her family also enjoys going to the Ozarks to spend time at their lake home.

 

 

 

 

Gabbi Sowers

Lead Toddler Teacher

 

Gabbi came to be the School-Age Teacher at SCRC in April of 2014.  She moved to the Toddler Classroom in 2016.  She lives in Villisca, Iowa and is currently attending Southwestern Community College.  Her experience in childcare consists of working at Catepillar Clubhouse in Gilbert, Iowa for one year and then spent nine months as a live in nanny in California.  Gabbi likes to stay busy with her friends and family in her spare time doing active, outdoor activities.

Cassie Culbertson

Assistant Toddler Teacher

 

Cassie is currently attending Southwestern Community College to complete her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education.  Cassie has been a full-time Toddler Teacher since September of 2015.  Cassie enjoys helping children learn and children's reactions when they discover new things.  In Cassie's spare time she likes to read, take walks, and draw!

 

 

 

Britany Schoning

Assistant Toddler Teacher

 

Britany joined the SCRC Team in February 2017.  She graduated from IWCC with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.  Britany has previously worked at the IWCC childcare center.  Britany enjoys seeing children's expressions on their faces when they develop something new.  She also loves to watch the children grow daily.  Her favorite part of coming to work are all the hugs & smiles she gets from the children.  During her free time Britany spends time with her family and her daughter Harper.  She also loves being outdoors and going on walks with her dog, Roxy.

 

 

Kali Bell

Assistant Toddler Teacher

 

Kali joined the SCRC team in September 2016.  She is from Kathmandu, Nepal where she attended and graduated college.  She loves working with children and enjoys having her son, Ethan, attend SCRC also!  In her free time, Kali likes to cook and spend time with her family.  Her favorite part of working with Toddlers is being active and on-the-go all day!

 

 

 

Katie Hart

Co-Lead Preschool Teacher

 

Katie is a Preschool Teacher at SCRC.  She is a Stanton High School graduate and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Child & Family Studies from NWMSU.  She served as director at SCRC from July of 2005 until February of 2012.  She has also worked in the infant room and previously was a toddler teacher at Turnbull Child Development Center.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and reading.

 

Valery Klassen

Assistant Infant/Toddler Teacher

 

Valery came to work at SCRC in December of 2016.  This is the first opportunity she's had to work with children.  Her favorite thing about the SCRC children are the hilarious things they say and their cute giggles!  In Valery's spare time she likes to take walks and be with her friends.

 

 

Jessica Tranbarger

Assistant Teacher

 

Jessica joined the SCRC team in October of 2016 after having an in-home daycare for two years.  Jessica helps in many classrooms throughout the center.  She loves spending time with her daughter and family!  Jessica also enjoys going for walks, fishing, swimming, and anything that her daughter can enjoy. 

 

 

Katie Stokke

Co-Lead Preschool Teacher

 

Katie Stokke joined the SCRC team in August of 2007, where she was the lead Toddler teacher until November of 2013 when she joined the Preschool Room.  Some of her favorite rewards of the job are:  getting to know all the children, watching them grow, expanding their knowledge, having fun with them and, of course, building great relationships with families and co-workers.  Katie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Minor in Special Education from the University of North Dakota.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and seeing and doing new things.

 

 

Caitlyn Soden

Assistant Teacher

 

Caitlyn began as a new teacher at SCRC in December of 2016!  She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in History Teaching.  Before starting at the center she spent 5 months working with children in various cities and countries through the Camp Adventure program.  She enjoys working with children because children are fun and full of energy!  In Caitlyn's spare time she likes to read.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Destiney Sickels

Lead School-Age Teacher

 

Destiney began as an Assistant Preschool Teacher in April of 2016.  Later that year she became the Lead School-Age Teacher.  Before joining the SCRC team Destiney had 2 years of previous childcare experience working at another licensed childcare center.  Destiney earned an Associate's degree through Southwestern Community College in 2015.  Destiney's favorite part of being an SCRC teacher is planning fun art activities to do with the kids.  In Destiney's spare time she enjoys reading, writing, and playing video games!

 

 

 

Sadie Day

Assistant Teacher/Substitute

 

Sadie is originally from Red Oak, Iowa and attended Red Oak High School where she graduated in 2010.  She then attended Iowa State University where she graduated in May of 2014 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutritional Science with a Minor in Child, Adult, & Family Services.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and playing with her new puppy!  She decided to join the SCRC team because she enjoys being around and working with children!

 

Mallorie Wookey

Assistant Teacher

 

Mallorie attends Stanton High School and is in the 10th grade.  She comes to help with our after school program in the afternoons.  She loves playing with the children and the opportunity to be a part of the SCRC team and make new friends!  Her favorite part about working at the Stanton Child Resource Center is sharing laughs with the kids and co-workers.  In her free time she likes to shop and spend time with her family.
